ERABLE 05.086

Erable (or Bird’s Eye Maple) of the Aceraceae family is a North American, valuable wood, i.e., three-dimensional: random eyelets are formed that appear to originate from a natural phenomenon, i.e., from the impressions left by frozen sap drops during harsh winters.
This is a seasonal phenomenon characterized by large temperature fluctuations year after year between the inner part of the bark and the sapwood.
The winkles of Acer nigrum/Acer saccarium, like the other three-dimensionalities that make the wood valuable (briar, frisé, pomelé), are a gift of Nature that makes 05.086 Tabu’s Erable veneer a unique and very exclusive product.
Dyeing natural veneer enhances the three-dimensionalities of Erable’s veneer, making it iridescent and luminescent like silk or velvet.
