Bolivar or tulip tree is a trade name for the wood Liriodendron tulipifera L., a member of the Magnoliaceae family, also known as tulipiferous or tulipier. It is a wood primarily of North American origin, although it is also found and available in Europe. The plant grows tall, straight and rather fast and provides timber whose workability, stability and specific weight (480 kg/m³ dried) make it suitable for a large number of uses.
