A North American wood species offered in deep-ribbed veneers, Pinus rigida of the Platanaceae family is offered in 3 color variants enhanced by dyeing in a play of tone on tone. It is a small to medium-sized pine (6 to 30 meters in height) and in ancient times was widely used as a major source of pitch and as lumber for building boats and railroad sleepers, not only that, many studies indicate that the Iroquois, Shinnecock and Cherokee Indians all used this type of pine for both canoe construction and medicinal uses.
