It is a species of African origin in the Sapotaceae family, botanically referred to as “altissima, robusta, superba, gigantea” with the scientific names of Aningeria altissima/ Aningeria robusta/ Aningeria superba/ Gambeyobotrys gigantea, often used in the past as a viable alternative to flame de Noce, can reach 50 meters in height.
